January is a really popular time for online dating with finding love featuring highly on singleton’s lists of New Year’s resolutions.
To take advantage of this boost in activity and to increase member upgrades, our comms team created a range of different engagement campaigns. Carry on reading to find out more…
New Year offer
Between the 1st and 3rd of January, we sent out a New Year discount to all basic members to encourage them to upgrade. During this period, there was an impressive 45% increase in upgrades.
New Year engagement prompt
On the 5th of January, we sent round a reminder to members to get their profiles in shape for the New Year. The prompt reminded members to upload photos, to create the perfect profile and how to search for the right person. This increased photo uploads by 15%, and profile updates by 20%.
Using Encounters is the quickest and easiest way for members to find a date by simply swiping Yes, No or Maybe to find a match. On the 8th of January we sent all members a reminder of how it works to encourage them to start playing. This increased Encounters engagement by 75%.
On the 10th of January we sent out a prompt to the General network to remind them to fill out or update the Q&A section on their profile to find more matches. This increased Q&A answer submissions by 37%.
Blue Monday offer
To beat the Monday blues, we offered money off all subscriptions if members upgraded their account between the 15th and 16th of January. Upgrades increased by 27% during this period.
Valentine’s Day countdown engagement
With only a few weeks to go until Valentine’s Day (at the time the campaign went out), we sent out some countdown tips to all mainstream networks to remind them how to increase their chances of finding a match. This increased photo uploads by 30%, and Q&A submissions by 14%.
