It’s that time of the month again, ‘Partner of the Month’ time and this month we are awarding Dermot Lawless the crown for the success he has achieved in just one month since he launched his site, LoveGAA.ie.
GAA fans are notoriously passionate about their teams and Dermot Lawless’ dating site LoveGAA.ie provides the platform for like-minded Gaelic games supporters to meet – on or off the pitch! The idea for Lovegaa.com was born when web designer Dermot was watching his native Donegal playing Clare in the All Ireland Football Championship in July. Dermot, (who met his own fiancee Susan through a dating site four years ago), couldn’t believe the idea hadn’t been thought of before. Dermot comments, “With this site, people who sign up already have something in common, which is a great ice-breaker”.
Since its launch in September, the site has been a huge success with the public and has received prime coverage from a wide range of media including Belfast Telegraph, Irish Examiner, Silicon Republic, Hogan Stand (the main title for Gaelic games), The Evening Herald, and Cork Red FM. Dermot has also promoted LoveGAA.ie through social media.
Steve Pammenter, Co-Founder and Director Of Partnerships, comments: ‘Its great what Dermot has achieved with LoveGAA.ie in such a relatively short space of time. He has a specific target market which in turn benefits all of its members as they already have something in common. With revenue already looking good for the site, especially in its infancy, we expect its popularity to only get bigger’.
