‘Royal Wedding’ Searched For Every 10 Seconds


Within the last seven days, online media has seen an accelerated flurry of ‘noise’ around the Royal Wedding. Data compiled by independent search marketing specialist and technology firm Greenlight, reveals it has risen a staggering 700% on March levels.

Currently, there’s an average of 9,000 posts a day on online media relating to the Royal Wedding. Internationally, those excited by it outweigh “haters” by 6:1. Love it or loathe it, you can’t really ignore what’s happening this Friday – it’s obviously important to some of your potential members out there!


Shoppers Eschewing High Street For Online


The public are spending more of their time online during the Bank Holiday period, leaving the high street alone. A new quarterly report released on Tuesday by Google and the British Retail Consortium shows the number of online searches related to retail items rose 29% in the three months to the end of March, compared with the same period a year ago, making it the fastest growing category.

Free Read Friday, Special Offers & Royal Wedding Gifts


Our Email Marketing team are continuing with the promotion of the ‘Royal Treasure Hunt’ encouraging members to find a prince or princess profile. This activity will increase member engagement and user time spent online that traditionally sees an increase in paid conversions.

A Free Read will also take place all day on Friday 29th April, with a 3-for-2 promotion going out to all basic members on Saturday to encourage upgrades during this time.  All the Wedding communication activities are happening across all regions on the General, Mature, Adult and Alternative networks.
