Fire walking for charity

This week on the blog, we’re sharing details of our craziest fundraising escapade yet, all in aid of a Global Giving nominated charity. Read on to find out more…

If you follow the blog of WhiteLabelDating.com parent company, Global Personals, (and our Global Giving adventures, in particular) you’ll be familiar with a charity, and one brave little girl, who we are really passionate about supporting.

Vivi’s Venture is the charity force backing eight year old Vivi. Diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy in 2008, Vivi has undergone numerous operations and intensive training to re-teach her legs to walk. This brave soul still requires a lot of further treatment and all of this costs money – in excess of £75,000.

It’s because of this that Vivi’s Venture rely on constant fundraising. All funding is sourced from donations and fundraising events, organised by Vivi’s dedicated family, friends and team of loyal supporters.

On Saturday 14th April (this weekend!), a team of hardened Globalites will be joining the Tree of Hope to defy all odds by walking over fire. Yes, fire! The team will be made up of Global Personals’ EA to the board, Kirsty Ward; Head of UX, Pete Lambert; Content & Copywriting Coordinator, Amy Loudon, and WhiteLabelDating.com Partner Managers, Gary Taylor and David Adams.

Fire walking is a brave feat, I’m sure you’ll agree, but a challenge that we welcome in the name of an amazing cause. Long-standing supporters of Vivi’s Venture, Tree of Hope, are a children’s charity offering hope to families of sick children who need specialist medical surgery, just like Vivi.

The fire walk on 14th April is also raising money for an equally deserving little boy, Ethan, who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when he was three years old. Both Ethan and Vivi’s goals are something that most of us take for granted – being able to walk and move pain free.

We speak behalf of the whole team of Globalites taking part when I say that we’re honoured to be taking part in the event– if not a tad scared about toasting our feet.

Please show your support and make a donation on our Just Giving page. Every penny helps.

If you’d like to find out more about our work with Vivi, head to her dedicated Global Giving page. For more details about the fire walk and to find out how you can attend, check out the Vivi’s Venture Facebook page or take a look at the Event.
