I registered with Just Christian Dating in July. My friend from work had previously met someone on the site and having been widowed 14 months previously, I took her advice and took the plunge! In my profile I said I wanted someone to make me smile again, and I have hardly stopped smiling since!
I was contacted the very evening I had registered by Paul. I checked out his profile and he looked nice so I emailed him back. From there things just took off! We emailed daily for a week or so, then swapped phone numbers and email addresses. After chatting on the phone for a while, we decided to meet.
That was when I discovered I had cold feet and started getting very nervous – it was my first time on a dating site. We met on the seafront and had a very long walk (we had already established that we were both keen walkers) then stopped for a fish and chip supper. We were both attracted to each other and talked non-stop about our lives, favourite holidays, families, work, dreams and many other subjects. We immediately decided to meet again, and have since joined a walking group together.
One of our early walks was around Goathland, where I was born, and we were lucky enough to find someone to take our photograph under the waterfall at Mallyan Spout which is where we shared our first kiss!
As things progressed we decided to go away for a long weekend together to Alnwick in Northumberland. We found a lovely place to stay and the sun shined all weekend! It was over all too quickly and so now we are planning on spending Christmas together and looking to book a holiday abroad next March.

I would just like to say a huge thank you for making my dreams come true and finding my soul mate – the bonus is that we were only half an hour away from each other.
I was looking for a special someone to make me smile again and you made that happen. It was his smile on his profile picture that attracted me. I had to contact him and luckily he replied back. After 3 days of emailing, we swapped numbers and texted each other constantly for two days. I don’t think either of us were brave enough to chat. We arranged to meet the following Tuesday. As we only worked 20 minutes away from each other, we arranged to meet at the Costa Coffee in Stockport. If there was such thing as love at first sight then this was it. We clicked straight away.
As a pure gentleman, he asked me for a kiss as we were leaving. I obliged. We met the following evening for a romantic meal at the Hartshead in Mossley. There were no awkward moments. It was amazing. We have been to a local football match, and to York. We feel so comfortable and grateful.
Alex asked me to marry him next year. I said yes. Once again thank you for making our dreams come true.

Michael first messaged me on 9th September. We SMS’d a few times and spoke on the phone. Michael said he found that we had many things in common. I’d met up with three others guys through the site but they didn’t work out. My thoughts were “I will meet Michael (it probably won’t work out) then I will take time to work on myself personally”.
The bad dates were all a learning curve but now I know that it was because the Universe had someone better for me.
Michael was so lovely in sending me a good morning SMS each day in the week before we met. We arranged to meet for a coffee at 1pm on Saturday 21st Sept. After an hour, I felt I just had to hold his hand. Four and a half hours later, we parted saying that we would catch up on the Thursday as I had a busy week of teaching. We sent many SMS’s on the Sunday and our feelings were moving so quickly, I went to his place that night.
He was an absolute gentleman and we shared many kisses in his lounge. He said he fell in love with me just five minutes after we met. I just love telling him that I love him. I am still getting used to being able to be myself and be loved for who I am.
I have since met his daughter and family. They were so glad to see him so happy, after his wife passed on from Cancer nearly two years ago. It is so nice to have someone who loves me unconditionally.
It has taken me 65 years to find the love of my life but all of my past experiences have brought me to this place. I still have challenges but I shouldn’t worry because Michael will do anything for me, as I will for him. I know that in three months time things will be even better than than they are now. We are still working on our future and continue to enjoy one anothers company.
