November comms round-up

As promised, we rolled straight out of October’s Halloween campaigns and into a short but sweet Guy Fawkes night discount for our UK networks, which performed very well!

After a bulk of special offers, the following few weeks were necessarily quiet on the discount front. As the end of the month rolled around, it brought with it Thanksgiving and assorted opportunities to entice members to subscribe to your dating sites. With non-US networks also mirroring the Thanksgiving promotion, we came up trumps to achieve a significant uplift in conversions and revenue.

So what went on between these offers you may ask? To give November a boost before December’s exceptionally busy season, engagement was our watchword. With recent enhancements to’s mobile functionality, we used this as a chance to tell members how to stay on top of their accounts while out-and-about. Reminders about mobile photo uploads and how to add a browser shortcut to the mobile home-screen boosted mobile activity by almost a fifth!

With Christmas being one of the busiest times in the dating calendar, November gave us a good opportunity to advise members on how to “beat the rush” and fill in their profiles before all their additional admirers arrived! We received a great response with a large increase in profile submissions after the campaign.

Christmas and New Year always offer dating business owners a great opportunity to attract additional traffic but, of course, truly capitalising on the natural uplift in dating searches requires investment! To support our partners ahead of the festive season, we gave their members the boost they needed to upgrade by running a record-breaking programme of cross-sell and upsells.

So, what does the Christmas period hold for us here in the Comms team? Needless to say there will be a festive mix of offers, engagement boosters and the odd campaign to surprise-and-delight thrown in for good measure! But we won’t spoil the surprise JUST yet – you never know who’s listening!

We’ll be back in the New Year to report on our festive performance and drop some hints as to what 2014 holds. In the mean time, Merry Christmas!
