Background

In 2003 Tim Taylor was working as the Director of an IT at Archant, the UK's largest independently owned regional media business, following a stint as Sky's Interim Chief Operating Officer. He escaped the hustle and bustle of London for beautiful Norfolk and made the decision to enter the online dating industry after seeing the market's tremendous business potential during his time working on Sky's Red Button services.

Taylor joined up with his technical partner Naveed Sheikh and launched Canoodle.me.uk in 2003. The site offers users online dating services alongside entertainment news and lifestyle information. Following the success of Canoodle.me.uk a further two Canoodle branded launches took place. Despite initial levels of success, Taylor found the pressures of his day job meant that there was little time left to focus on the site or develop the site further.

The Challenge

In May 2007, Taylor took the decision to leave Archant in order to focus on his online dating business full time.
