What are her top tips for this month?

- Don’t be afraid to be different- we all know that online dating is now bigger than porn, so you need to STAND OUT! Try to reach a different sector of your target market with a new approach to the imagery, content and language used within your homepage.

- Make the most of your traffic- encourage your members to give feedback on your brand. Run competitions and surveys from your homepage to try and encourage members to give their views. Why did they choose your site? Have they had any good meet ups or do they have any funny dating stories? This content can then be used on your homepage, making your site a real, approachable brand

- Try running monthly tips, or monthly featured members on your homepage. It’s important that members see your brand as a support to their online dating experience, keep them coming back not only to date but also to get advice and find hand picked, quality members! Members will then begin to see the brand as up to date and good value for money.

Yes, that’s right it’s September…already! We can’t believe how quickly the last few months have gone! Things have been busier than ever here in Windsor, August has been a very proactive and exciting month…let’s fill you in.

The Bank Holiday Definitely Delivered

We promised you good things from the Bank Holiday weekend and we haven’t let you down!

Bank Holiday weekends always provide great opportunities for your site(s). There is so much potential for extra visitors and higher conversion rates and this August Bank Holiday proved to be no exception.

Bank Holiday Monday was the highest grossing UK revenue day since March this year, those extra conversions really paid off! This is great news for you and your site(s) and just shows that spending that little extra bit of time maximising your online spend really does pay off.

It wasn’t only the August Bank Holiday that saw great results. Overall August has been a very profitable month. It was the best month for the number of online members we have ever seen on the White Label Dating platform!! This is an amazing statistic and clearly shows that online dating is getting more and more popular, thus making your site more and more populated which helps increase your member’s chances of finding a partner - so winners all round!

Customer Care Just Carries on Improving

In the past month we have introduced two very important departments to the customer care team. We are pleased to announce we now have a retention team who are at hand to assist all members with cancelling subscriptions or any queries regarding cancellations. This new cancellation process allows members to cancel their membership with us when needed over the phone, the process is instant and the member will receive instant confirmation after speaking to a representative via our free phone telephone line.

We have also introduced a new fraud department to the team, this allows the Customer care team to concentrate more on our members whilst the fraud team are on hand to filter out fraudulent activity on the site and remove any members from the site that are not using the service as intended. This will make all of our sites a more enjoyable and safer place for our genuine members to be.

The Number One Event for Interactive Marketing

It’s that time of the year again…ad:tech time! We are not exhibiting at this year’s London show but have just secured our place at ad:tech New York which is taking place on 3rd and 4th November at the Javits Convention Center - New York.

ad:tech is the number 1 event for interactive marketing. The Digital Marketing Conference for today’s marketing leaders, an event not to be missed if you can help it!

As mentioned, we will not be exhibiting at the London show, but we will definitely be attending as it’s such a great event for the online marketing and advertising community. The London event is taking place on Tuesday 21st September and Wednesday 22nd at The National Hall, Olympia.

If you can get to ad:tech London, try and attend some of the workshops as well as having a wander around the exhibition. You can pick up some great tips and it’s a great networking event!

We are really excited to be exhibiting at the New York show! It will be a great opportunity to connect with our US market. If you are lucky enough to be heading to New York around the same time, be sure to drop in, we would love to see you!

August is upon us already following an exceptionally busy July, with more member communications than ever before and conversions sky rocketing.

Messages in Their Millions!

July was one of our busiest ever months for online member communications.  Between the 1st and 28th July on average 1,026,631 messages were sent per day!! Of course, more messages mean greater engagement which ultimately improves the experience of members on the site and keeps them paying for longer.

To support all of this additional online activity, our Customer Support Team have been working harder than ever to make sure that they’re on hand for any questions members have.

Take that Step…Go International!

We know that one of the biggest challenges can be standing out from the crowd in an industry that sees new sites launching every week. However, our International territories continue to go from strength to strength as they make the most of less mature markets.

For months now, we’ve been talking about the successes of the South African market, but Wednesday 28th July  turned out to be the best revenue day EVER for our South African partners! Go SA! This just goes to show that the market continues to grow and is showing no signs of saturation to date.

New Dedicated Mature Network

With the number of active internet users growing amongst older generations and the average lifetime of the population increasing, there are more mature singles now than ever before.

Following significant investment in research into the online dating market, results show that there are over 1,592,000 potential over 50s online daters. With more disposable income (75% lie in an affluent socio-demographic band A-C1) and time on their hands, online dating is proving to be an increasingly popular method of meeting new people.

After conducting this research we decided to meet this demand, and are pleased to announce that we successfully launched a targeted network exclusively for these individuals. This network specifically caters for the mature market and provides a community tailored to meet their needs, free from the inconveniences that come with sharing the site with much younger members. They also benefit from a tailored CRM programme and promotions.

Suspicious Members & New Search Functionality

We have recently introduced a ‘Mark As Suspicious’ button into our Moderation Tool. This allows our moderators to track a profile that may look a little suspicious but not enough to reject it completely. Once this button is clicked, we are able to run a report to keep an eye on the activity within the profile to ensure that the member is genuine. What a fantastic way to stop those nasty scammers ruining your members dating experience!

After reviewing member feedback, we decided it was time to update the search facility. We don’t want your members having to search through page after page of unsuitable members, so we’ve introduced new ways to narrow down their search. They are now able to search using the following options:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Last Online
  • Latest joined
  • Newest video
  • Newest photo

So far the feedback has been fantastic. We recognise that making the member experience the best that it can possibly be, the lifetime of membership is lengthened and thus revenue per member increases. Good news all round!

The truth is that there’s more options than ever and the most successful partners use as many sources as possible to get the broadest range of customers.

Below are a few sources to get you started:

PlentyOfFish.com

Whilst many partners advertise on Plentyoffish.com indirectly through Google Adwords content network, you can cut out the middleman and advertise directly via PlentyofFish.com - your ads can be live in just 5 minutes and you can target by age, gender, location and income. Learn more at www.plentyoffish.com/advertising.aspx.

Smooch.com
This is the largest UK-based free dating site which attracts many of their members through search engine optimisation. You can benefit from this traffic through targeted advertising. You may wish to target a specific demographic (eg. men over 50) for your site. They’ve offered WLD partners a special rate of just 50pence CPM - remember to quote WLD. MSN / Bing
A great alternative to Google is to try Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine. Generally partners report lower acquisition costs on Bing and their traffic is increasing due to a national TV advertising campaign. Learn more about advertising on Bing via https://adcenter.microsoft.com/

Facebook

Toyboy.com Grabs the Attention of the Media

The hard work of Toyboy.com has helped the brand take the attention of the media yet again. The site has managed to be featured in not one, but two UK newspapers, The Sun and The DailyMail.

The site carried out some research on 1,000 women aged between 18 and 65 and found that having a toyboy can make a woman feel an average of four years younger than they actually are. Both newspapers picked up on the research and the site was quoted in each article, giving Toyboy.com some great coverage!

The site is a perfect example when it comes to proving that driving your marketing, believing in and selling your brand can lead to brilliant results. Check out the online articles at The Sun and The MailOnline.

F-buddy gets some insight into celebrity packages

The owner of f-buddy.co.uk really got his thinking hat on this week when he got together with his PR agency and cajcrried out some research into who women perceive to have the biggest “manhood” in show business.

The survey of 4,000 ladies was conducted by the site f-buddy.co.uk, and the results landed the site a place on the front page of the Daily Star newspaper, along with a whole page inside spread and an online piece! Just in case you were interested, Jeremy Clarkson come in top followed closely by Gordon Ramsey and Daniel Craig and poor little Alan Carr was right down the bottom!

Managing to get a feature on the front page of such a recognisable newspaper is great PR coverage for the site and it just shows what a bit of fun and imagination can do! Check out the article online for yourself and see if you agree with the results.

Helping Your Members ‘Break the Ice’

WhiteLabelDating.com is always keen to introduce new features to improve the platforms to increase revenue and improve retention. One of our latest developments was the introduction of Icebreakers which have seen an exciting increase in conversion levels on the sites.

Icebreakers allow members on the site to introduce themselves to members of the opposite sex determined by age and location in one easy email. All done by a simple click of a button.

Not only does this lower the barrier for entry, it encourages basic members to upgrade to respond with email, which we believe will see an improvement in conversions across the sites. One of the biggest benefits is that it also encourages a better quality of members in the database as in order to be able to send an Icebreaker the members are required to have a full profile and moderated profile picture.

At present the icebreakers are still only available across the General network and to women on the Adult network. This is to encourage more women to engage in communication with men on the site, which we know gets more of them paying! We will continue to review the performance across the Adult network before deciding whether to introduce to male members in the future.

This is a great new feature which helps your site stand out from the competition and we would encourage you to build this into your online marketing campaigns moving forwards. General Network Sees Strengthened Performance

Many of our partners own a portfolio of dating sites including a general site which is something that we would always encourage. Not only does this assist you to extend your brand but allows you to easily use online advertising to promote the site. General sites are much easier to promote through social networks and of course can be advertised on search engines.

In the past 4 weeks alone, reinitials have seen an increase of 67%, initials 20% and a reduction in terminations of 24.7%. Some examples of sites that are really performing well on the general network include;

New Moderation System Implemented

In a continued effort to improve the quality of the database, increasing conversion and retention, we are always looking for ways to improve the customer experience.

The recent introduction of the new moderation system means that our support team now have the best possible tools to give outstanding service to the members. We have now implemented a process which means that all profiles, first messages, diary entries and photos are now approved by one of our team members in Windsor.

Since introducing this new workload the support team have introduced a new moderations team who are solely dedicated to moderations, they are working shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00pm so your members can find their profiles being updated in record speed. Our average moderation time is just 3 hours and improving.

Customer Support Team Update w/c 29th March

As we are nearing the end of March, we have taken the time to reflect upon the month that we have had. It really has been a busy one and has gone by in a flash. The last of our new features this month was the launch of the ‘Ice Breaker’ facility. This new feature allows all members, once they have uploaded a photo, to introduce themselves to hundreds of members by composing one message. This is a great way to reach a large number of members and to make some immediate connections. This is especially beneficial to our basic members who are not sure whether to upgrade their accounts or not. By using the ‘Ice breaker’ facility, we are not only encouraging members to upload a photo which has shown to improve success rates, but are also giving them a chance to sell themselves before committing to a payment. They can then gage the response they receive back which can be the final push they need to upgrade their account. The moderating team have been kept busy as they are now approving all ice breakers too.

This month has seen a number of significant changes and has solely been about driving customer satisfaction by making the sites as user friendly as possible. We have seen a rise in customer satisfaction and a promising decline in complaints. Needless to say that this is just the beginning and there is plenty more to come from the support team throughout the year.

Member Query of the week

With the Ice Breaking facility proving to be such a huge success, we have been on hand to answer all of the many queries. The most frequent query has been ‘what type of thing should I write in my message if it’s reaching so many people’. Well the answer is simple really, just be yourself! We want our members to have fun on the site and enjoy meeting new people. Therefore, their messages should reflect this by being as fun and friendly as possible. Just a few lines to introduce yourself, and maybe write a little about what you are looking for is perfect. Basically whatever feels comfortable and natural, just as though you were talking to someone you had just met in a bar or through a friend. All we ask is that they keep it clean and do not include any personal details. We think our members are really enjoying this new feature and appreciate all the help we are giving them.

I wish the members on here were as open and well spoken as the support team. I’d have no problem getting to know people then. I guess between me and the support team, we have convidence talking to people. When I go to a shop in town, If I buy something and the girl is pretty behind the counter, I allways almost ask her out, as she has a good nature, and she comments on what I’m buying, it really makes me feel good.
