According to research by the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), men and women who were between the ages of 40 and 69 were most likely to use online dating websites in order to find love, with 36% of the respondents saying they found their current partner on the internet.
Dr Bernie Hogan, research fellow at the OII, said to The Press Association: “Finding your partner online was once regarded as a bit of a novelty, but this survey suggests it has become a common if not dominant way of meeting new partners, particularly if you are between 40 and 70 years old.”
