Urgent Service Update (resolved)

Update - Resolved

The system is now fully operational again and all services running normally. We are continuing to work to prevent the same issue occurring again. See the WLD Status page for continuing updates.

Original Message

Because of a major fault on our disk storage system this morning, we are experiencing severely degraded performance on the entire WLD system. No data has been lost and we have full backups, but the system will continue to be impaired until the early hours of Wednesday 30 June. After diagnosis of the issue with our hosting provider, Rackspace, we have begun the process to restore full capability but estimate this could take a further 12 hours to complete.

You can follow status updates about this issue on the WLD System Status site, but in the meanwhile should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact your Partner Manager on 01753 271280.

With the disappointing result from the World Cup, we’ve decided to throw ourselves into the tennis and we’re hoping Andy Murray does us proud! To get into the spirit of things we’ve added some Wimbledon themed gifts to our general network sites. Members now have the option to send either a tennis racket, a pimms or strawberries and cream!

Query of the Week

With the introduction of our new gifts, many members are asking us what the benefit of these gifts are and how to send them.

In order to send gifts, members must first purchase credits. For £5 members can get 50 credits, gifts start at just 5 credits - not bad eh!? Gifts are a great way of breaking the ice and making your profile stand out from the rest. Members are able to include a message with their gift also. So the next time one of our members spots a potential date, all they need to do is click ‘Send this member a gift’ and select from one of the many gifts on offer!

Here at WhiteLabelDating.com we love nothing more than expanding our online profile and exploring all possible avenues. Online dating now fills such a huge online space with still so much potential to grow.

A huge focus for us at the moment is the media. More and more media channels are becoming ever so interested in the big wide world of online dating and feel that having an online dating site that links to their brand really works for them and helps them cater for their audiences needs.

Radio stations are especially personal to their listeners, and we are very pleased to announce we have recently obtained some brand new radio stations, Chester’s Dee 106.3 and Cheshire’s silk 106.9 to add to our ever growing radio profile of 26 stations.  We are very pleased to have both stations on board and welcome them with the excitement to help build both sites to their full potential.

With the recent increased reach of radio advertising we are expecting some great things to come out of Cheshires’s silk and Chester Dee Dating.

Wow what a busy week we’ve had in Windsor. The excitement of Ascot Races is now dying down and it’s back to business!

We ended last week with a company presentation which is a great chance for all departments to give an update and what’s been happening and what’s coming up. It’s always great to hear what new developments we have coming up and to see the number of members joining increasing each month. We also had a sneak preview of the Global Personals video which had us all in giggles - you’ll be able to view it soon on the website!

Query of the week

When advising the best way to get your profile noticed, we always tell our members to make use of our diary facility. This week we’ve had a lot of questions on what exactly this feature should and can be used for.

The great thing about the diary facility is that members can make it as short or as long as they’d like. So from telling everybody what a great weekend they’ve had to going into detail on why they’ve joined the site and what they’re looking for. It’s a fantastic way to get their profile noticed and give other members an insight into their personality, lifestyle, sense of humour, background and more! Alot of our members use their diary entries to pass on dating advice from personal experiences, some even use it to show their creative side by writing poetry and short stories!

It’s one of our favourite features on the site and with the growing interest in online blogging, we think this is one of the strongest ways to create interest in members profiles, and we love hearing what our members have to say!

Research reveals growth opportunity

Divorce in the over 50s has soared by 19% to 23,000 a year since 1998, whilst the overall divorce rate has actually fallen 16% to 130,000 a year. Ultimately, this means that there is a large section of the population which is currently under-served in terms of tailored services.

Following significant investment in research into the online dating market, results show that there are over 1,592,000 potential over 50s online daters. With more disposable income (75% lie in an affluent socio-demographic band A-C1) and time on their hands, online dating is proving to be an increasingly popular method of meeting new people.

Enjoying a Day at the Royal Races

A select few of our partners are being treated to a day at Royal Ascot today with a few of the WLD Gang, but it’s not just any day at the races. We have arranged for a private table in an exclusive Trackside Restaurant for the day. The restaurant is situated in a prime position, overlooking the track at Concourse Level which offers head-on views of the racing action only meters away from the track. A perfect place for them to watch their winning horse come in…with any luck anyway!

They have already enjoyed a pimm’s and champagne reception and a delicious first class 5 course lunch! Still to come is a day full of racing and champagne! Wishing you all lots of luck! If we have any tips we will send them over!

Customer Support Team Update w/c 14th June

We’ve had a busy week here in the Customer Care Team with not 1 but 3 birthdays this week so Happy Birthday to Stacey, Alana and Alex!  Between all the birthday cakes and presents we have also welcomed two new members to the team, Farrah and Tanya who are settling in great within the moderation team and have picked up the role quickly. They are a great additional to our ever growing moderation team!

World Cup fever has hit the nation as well as Global Personals with everyone picking their teams in the sweep stake last week so heres hoping we have the winning team! So from all of us at Support have a great week and enjoy the football and we’ll see you next Monday

Query Of the Week
Our query of the week is in relation to one of our casual network sites Flirtfix which is our new urban, young site for flirting, dating and fun! On Flirtfix members are able to update their status just like on Facebook and Twitter, we have introduced this as a way for our members to instantly share their thoughts, feelings or general musings with fellow members on the site.

We feel this is a great way to attract people to your profile and to get yourself noticed as all updates are shown on members home page. We’re always getting asked what members can include in their status updates and have included a few recent status updates to give our members some ideas!

Customer Support Team Update w/c 7th June

Hello again…We hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend!! The customer care team were in the office as normal to assist our members with any problems they may have.
We realise that great customer care comes hand in hand with great team work so we are always keen on spending time outside of work to get to know any new starters etc and create good relationships.
Last week the Customer care team got together with the moderation team to enjoy a meal in a lovely local Italian restaurant, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and I’m sure we will have many more events like this in the future.

We have made some great changes to the search facility on all premium template sites and this has made a lot of our members very happy to see that we have taken their ideas on board. Busy Bank Holiday for Online Love

The rainy bank holiday weekend may have not been what you were all hoping for on your way down to the beach, but it was great for business!

On Monday, we had a free activity period over all of our sites on the UK network allowing your members to chat for free, read and reply to inbox messages and basically have a completely free flirtatious day!

Due to the free communication period we saw hugely increased activity! There were over 50% more people online and we saw a 260% increase on the average conversation count compared to the rest of May! That’s a hell of a lot of chats going on between your members. We’re glad that so many of our partners increased their marketing to take full advantage of it!
