Building a Brand is Key

Thursday, 5 November 2009

Our most successful partners are those that realise they need to build a brand rather than just a site. A brand isn’t something that you’re able to build by bidding on Google keywords - it’s about making your brand recognisable so that you stay in peoples minds to ensure that they come to your site next when they consider a dating site.

We were delighted when one of our partners sites, SinglesOver60.co.uk was featured on ITV1’s “7 Days On The Breadline” which aired last night. Not only was it great to be shown on such a high profile programme, having Trinny Woodall name the site and recommended it provided celebrity which is invaluable to the brand.

In addition to this, having online dating featured on a mainstream television show continues to normalise the industry, reducing the stigma and ultimately increasing the market for all online dating sites.

We believe that this site was featured because the site owner, Melanie Smith, has worked hard to build her brand into one that is reputable and recognisable. This is something that all of our partners should be striving towards to take their sites to the next level. We’re proud of Melanie and the media coverage that she’s attained and wish her continued success as her hard work pays off. Check out Melanie’s site for yourself at SinglesOver60.co.uk

At the end of the day, the decision to white label or go with software is pretty straightforward. If you want LOTS of flexibility in feature design, and you like tinkering, and you have a good chunk of change, you can consider building your own dating site and starting from scratch.

If you want to focus on marketing and branding, use a white labeler.

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for your comment. I’m a little bit confused as to how your point relates to the post though? There’s no discussion of whether it’s best to white label or go with software - we’re simply saying that building a brand is vital - whether that’s for your own site or a white label site.

I’d also suggest that unless you have real know how and funds to invest, white label sites are by far the best and simplest way to launch a dating site. Building a database of members is often the hardest task and this is provided automatically with our platform. We also have a team of over 16 developers constantly working on new features which is something few individuals could afford. We conduct all of our testing on our own sites to ensure that only the best make it to the platform… so our partners are only ever provided with tried and tested features and advice from our dedicated partner team, something which we know is invaluable.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I can see a lot of work has gone into this site - and that is something people often forget. Hard Work is needed to make anything work in life !
