WLD Stole the Show at iDate!

WhiteLabelDating.com always enjoy attending the Internet Dating Conference (iDate) and this year was no exception. We were there in force, sponsoring the conference and of course the after party! We had our very own Mel Kirk presenting, who’s presentation was topped for being one the best of the conference! We wouldn’t want you to miss out now, so we have attached Mel’s presentation to the blog so you can all take a look for yourselves. Mel was also involved in the heated panel debate that took place at the end of the two days.

As always it was great fun and very informative. We will of course be at the Miami conference in January so if you missed us in London be sure to catch up with us there!

ad:tech Show was a Great Success

It was a unusually busy week last week for the WhiteLabelDating.com team. Not only did we have a very successful ad:tech show we also stole the show at the Internet Dating Conference!

ad:tech took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at The National Hall, Olympia. The show was a great success and our stand was definitely one to catch the eye with our very own magician, Jamie Raven attracting potential customers towards the stand with his array of magic tricks he had hidden up his sleeve! We had a great turn out and thanks so much to everyone that popped over and said hello!

Customer Support Team Update w/c 28th Sept

Hello again everyone! Time for a nice cuppa and update on the latest feedback from our Support Team. Last week was a really good week for us in support! Not only did our members seem very happy with the service they were receiving, which is reflected in our lowered complaint rate this week, we also had a brand new addition to the support team!

On the 21st of September Cara joined the ever growing Support Team and we would like to give her a big warm welcome by introducing her to you! Although the popular and valued Cara has already been an employee of WhiteLabelDating.com for 6 months now, she has worked hard and made her way to the Support Team. She was spotted for her ambition and her noted interest in the Customer Service role. Cara started with us at WhiteLabelDating.com in an Administration position and even then she was able to spot out and seek potential scammers which Jessica (Support Manager) noticed and took advantage of straight away.  Cara was originally from a retail background and studied IT at college which has come in handy working here. She has a beautiful telephone manner and understands the value of hard work! Cara is great at helping our customers with their support queries and has taken to the role quickly, and efficiently as she is already familiar with the WhiteLabelDating.com family. Shes already become a popular and valued member of her new team as well! :)

Member query of the week

This week we have had a lot of interest in Video Profiles.

Members on all sites are able to upload videos onto their profile. This is an excellent way of introducing yourself and allowing other members on the site to see and hear what you are like! We have noticed that profiles with videos attract a lot more attention, the main reason for this being that it starts to feel more ‘real’. Sometimes Internet dating can seem somewhat robotic, however, adding a video to your profile makes you come alive! Most members that come to us about video profiles just need reassurance that they will be saying the right things, as we can all understand, talking about yourself positively can be difficult sometimes and members just need a little encouragement. We have had some very good video profiles this week and just hope the members keep them coming!

In the past week we have had a lot of members asking us how to obtain credits through the site. Both our online, virtual gifts and astrological merchandise is growing in popularity on a daily basis.
Gifts are very popular on all of our sites and are a great way for our members to break the ice.
Also, purchasing items such as compatibility matches and profile coaches can really help our members make the most out of their time with us and obviously assists in finding them the perfect partner!

The Customer Support Team are keen to help our members out with this, and of course everything else too! We do think it is very important our customers can approach other members however they want to, and if that’s by sending them a special little gift to say hello then why not! It’s a fun and different way than normal to get in touch with that someone who you like the look of. We definitely understand a gift does show that little bit extra fun and flirtation than a standard normal message.

New upgrade page delivers increases in partners’ revenue

Converting your members from a free basic member to a full paying subscriber is at the heart of your dating business. More upgrades of course means more revenue. This is also a key objective for all of us at WLD and we are continually working to make the payment process as easy as possible to help drive these initial and re-initial payments.

So I’m pleased to announce the launch of our new upgrade page this weekend. The project combined research and analysis from the Marketing team with an elegant implementation by our Development team’s designers and developers. The new page simplifies the multi-step process into one step, removing clutter and focusing the member’s attention. We also re-ordered the payment period options so that a 6-month package was pre-selected and displayed first, instead of the 1-month to encourage members to sign up for longer subscription periods.

So that we could first measure the difference in conversion with the previous method, we ran a pilot over the last month on Singles365, using A/B testing. Half of Singles365’s basic members received the previous version and half were shown the new one. The results showed a clear increase in revenue per upgrade, meaning more people were selecting the longer package, plus an increase in the total number of upgrades against the last process, indicating a decrease in payment abandonment.

Confident and pleased by the results of the analysis, on Friday afternoon we switched all sites to use the new process in favour of the previous method. Early indications have shown an immediate 10-20% increase in initials/re-initials across all partner sites.

Over the next few weeks we will continue to monitor upgrades and customer feedback to ensure take-up is as smooth as possible from these changes. We are also planning further incremental changes for the re-upgrade process and aim to detail these soon.

TheSeniorDatingAgency.co.uk Reaches 1yr Anniversary

We’re pleased to celebrate TheSeniorDatingAgency.co.uk reaching their first anniversary. David Cliff, the rather clever chap behind the site has been running his own platform of dating sites since September 2005. By August 2008 he had launched over 10 sites on the platform, catering for several niches - not bad for a self-confessed cyberphobe.

As a gentleman in his 50s, David was well positioned to know what the more mature market were looking for from an online dating proposition. This is quite unique as many of the dating sites are run by younger folks who are less accustomed to what their target audience want and can relate to.

Growth on the site has exceeded all expectations with revenue increasing by 3494% between January and August 2009 with a 4567% increase in paying members! Not bad I think you’ll agree?

We’ve been delighted to see such growth in David’s site and our mature network as a whole as the older generation look to online to provide them with their dating solutions. We hope to see continued growth for many years to come.

Customer Support Team Update w/c 14th Sept

You will recently have read a post from us introducing the Support Team. This is because as a business we are transparent and we want our partners to see the staff that are working day in, day out to guarantee their success. So often, the only contact that a partner will have will be with their Partner Manager, but there are so many more of us working away behind the scenes.

We pride ourselves with giving excellent customer service to all of our members, ensuring all profiles are moderated to a high quality, membership queries are dealt with quickly and professionally and providing friendly UK phone support 7 days a week. Over the past year our Customer Support Team has more than doubled, going from a team of 4 in July 2008 to now a team of 12, which is still in the process of growing! Due to the expansion of this department and the direction customer support is heading withing the company, we thought it would be beneficial to fill you in on a weekly basis about; member queries during that week, good customer experience feedback and a percentage rate of complaints. So here goes…..

Its going to be unusually quiet next week in the WhiteLabelDating.com head offices, as a lot of our team are heading over to London to be busy bees at not one but two big conference trade shows. That’s right its ad:tech and iDate time!

ad:tech is the number 1 event for interactive marketing.The Digital Marketing Conference for today’s marketing leaders, something definitely not to be missed!
The event is taking place on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd of September and is being held at the Olympia National Hall in London. Supporting the Troops in Afghanistan

Here at WhiteLabelDating.com, we’re great supporters of the British troops in Afghanistan. We have a number of sites on the platform that are dedicated for service people looking for friendship and relationships, including the established site ForcesDating.com which is one of the most popular.

It was great therefore, when we had the opportunity to make a generous donation to the Coldstream Guards who are currently based out there. It caused quite a stir to have them turn up in the office in uniform and was appreciated by many of the female members of the team! ;)

We were glad to be able to donate to a really worthy cause that everybody can relate to and wish them well for the future.
